Happy 4th of July
Tomorrow is the day we celebrate the United States independence and our continued freedom. It is a day for many Americans to spend time with family and friends while lighting off fire works. I will be going out on the Puget Sound to soak up the summer sun and do some crabbing with my dad and a bunch of friends. It should be a great time but don’t forget the sun block (note to self).
I have read the Declaration of Independence before and it is truly amazing the idea that is solidified in those words. One of my favorite sections of it is:
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”
Now this has nothing to do with the current political climate but it makes me wonder what this phrase can shed on the current political situation in our country. I think most would agree that change is definitely needed but what that change has to be is up for debate. There are so many thoughts and ideas being spewed out from all directions that it is challenging to hear a voice with all the noise.
As Americans we have an obligation to stand up and resist abuses that are happening in our country’s borders. So what is your take on the current political climate and/or your thoughts in general about the United States future?
Hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July and at the end of the day everyone has 8 fingers and 2 thumbs at the end of the day.
Project Completion
Today I finalized a project for the Chris Ward Team and it feels so good. Not in the aspect of collecting money but in the aspect of setting out to do a job and working through it and seeing the project in all its glory. Completing a project gives me so much intrinsic satisfaction, a smile to my face, that it is difficult to explain. Having a day job doesn’t lend itself to full time consulting work but sleeping is not in the grand scheme of things just yet.
Right now building a client base that wants results, trusts in their marketing professional and allows for creative freedom is what I am seeking. So it is a pleasure to work with a client that trust and allows a company to construct something that is that takes their marketing to another level.
There is more projects lined up and scheduled so if you would like to sit down with us feel free to contact us to see how TW Resource Group can leverage current or develop new marketing strategies for you.

Toby Barnett, Senior Consultant
Experience
Toby first got his experience in the consulting industry while studying at the University of Washington, Bothell. He worked as the team leader and manager of a team of four that provided consulting services to a Kirkland based millwork company, Masterpiece AG-Limited. Through that experience Toby learned team dynamics, leadership, time management and task completion skills while providing high quality and usable products for Masterpiece AG-Limited.
Simultaneously, Toby was interning for the Seattle Mariners leading a team for the Field of Lights Christmas event held in Safeco Field. It was his duty to put together a part of the event and manage it through the holidays. Using his leadership skills, Toby created an area that catered to kids and families. Customer Service and creating a welcoming environment was of the highest importance. The Seattle mariners awarded Toby with a Letter of Recommendation and a authentic Mariners player’s jersey during the even recap meeting.
In his second consulting project, Toby was the team leader in a collaboration project with the Yakama Nation Museum and the University of Washington. The project goal was to benchmark another company/organization to see how their practices could be implemented for the success of the Nation. Through the project the student team put together a fundraising program and made recommendations like creating a Board of Director to govern the direction of the Museum and to direct its fundraising effort.
After graduation, the University of Washington, Bothell approached Toby in being a student advisor in an international collaboration project. The project took Toby to Bosnia for two weeks to assist in teaching business strategy, team building and leadership skills to students at Slobomir P Univerzitet. Toby experienced the Bosnian culture first hand by spending time with the students, in and out of the college environment, attending dinners with student’s families (while talking history & politics), experiencing a school dance and living at the University as the only American.
Toby Barnett is a person driven by experiences and his motivation comes from his interaction with people and learning attitude.
