Yesterday while sitting at my desk an idea popped into my head after reading some status updates and which ones generate discussions. A few times I have randomly posted status updates that I knew my friends would instantly jump on the chance to “dis” me on. The site has been full of neglect

Again I have been busy building website, updating sites to WordPress 2.7 and putting proposals together and haven’t been blogging like I should. Hopefully that will change soon, or maybe not (don’t know which one is a good thing) and I can get to posting about marketing again.

Lord of the Rings Onlines introduces WordPress for character & kin profiles

Last night when I went to login and start battling foes on Lord of the Rings Online a new alert jumped out at me. LOTRO introduced character profiles and blogging system for its members. As any self respecting SEO, I went to check out to see what was going on. After logging I found that LOTRO is using WordPress to give every member and kinship a profile page.

Without trying to control my urge to test it out, I did a blog on how the WordPress Dashboard works so other members who many not be used to WordPress can get a quick run through and seasoned veterans who don’t have an account can get an idea of the capability.

Employers search YOU as a job applicant

This morning I was scanning through the presets on the radio when the word “social networking” jumped out at me. Adam Corolla and his guests where discussing how a person’s Facebook and MySpace profiles could negatively affect a job applicants interview. This is not the first time I have heard and/or discussed this very topic. Back in 2006, seems like a long time ago, I was listening to NPR and the topic of Googling job applicants arose. These two topics are so similar and if you are not aware how search works then it may seem like no big deal to post more personal information on a Facebook or MySpace profile.

The importance to take your own videos

Video marketing has become popular just like blogging since the revolution of online viral marketing. People make professional videos detailing services, conferences, webinars and just for fun all to increase market presence and/or share with friends and family. I have watched a lot of videos on YouTube and the ones that show in all our inboxes and even shoot a few myself.
