Do you Squidoo?

Squidoo.com is a social networking site that allows users to create free lenses which was discussed in Quality Backlinks part 1. TW Resource Group has been working on its small business seo lens and it is coming along nicely but still pretty plain. Squidoo has a different feel compared to most social networking sites since it doesn’t employ a blog feature but uses modules to add content, images and links.

Lenses are an excellent way for small business owners to get more exposure for the business. Squidoo has gotten a lot of attention since its launch and no wonder since it was built by Seth Godin, marketing guru. Lens have a solid seo foundation to them enabling them to rank really well for highly competitive keywords. One of our clients, Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC, uses lens to spread the word on their local real estate market and has gotten excellent results, with some hard work, in just a few months.

If you don’t have a lens yet just sign up and start one today.

Project Auto Movie Part 3

Tonight I went to Green Lake to meet up with some friends to relax. As the night wore on the topic of this project came up and some good items came up but the biggest was the use of story boarding.

Storyboarding is a similar concept to brainstorming or mind mapping where a large sheet of paper is placed on the wall and the ideas that want to be incorporated into the movie are written all over it. Then the ideas are further flushed out. By doing so a movie creator can visualize and determine what shots will be needed for each section and will ensure that all the necessary footage is taken and not left up to chance.

When my friend shared this concept with me, I am not a film expert, it totally made sense and immediately my brain started going into motion of how the project is going to develop. The next step is to get together with Dayzed50 and get to storyboarding, hopefully this coming weekend since there are no major plans going on, yet.

Client Interviews

The other day I was interviewed for our Marysville real estate company as the SEO/marketer from Advanced Access, April 2007 Featured Client. It is quite an honor to be a featured company and just recently my personal blog was featured from MSN Spaces.

This potential marketing leverage is huge for any company that takes the time to get noticed. It is an easy task but if a company takes the time to invest in a marketing strategy, in this case an online approach, free publicity can happen.

Everyone at Barnett Associates Real Estate, LLC is happy to know that we are being featured on a site that has over 35K members and it further re-enforces our position as Advanced Access’s best company website in 2006.

Obtaining this type of recognition will help me reach my goal of averaging 25K hits per month, currently we are averaging 18K. Only time will tell and these next few months are going to be exciting to say the least.

Project Auto Movie Part 2

I have been emailing Pacific Raceways to in order to get clearance with have team members throughout the road course. After talking to the webmaster it looks to be a cool but difficult item to secure. Tonight I went to Dayzed50’s house to get the Mustang back inside after the motor install, view 5.0 Mustang motor pics. The project is starting to develop as well as taking on a life of its own and here is another short clip of some racing.

Project Auto Movie Part 1

I have been working some friends that have gotten involved in TheAutoLog.com and how we can all leverage the enthusiasm of autos and our affinity for web marketing. Now this post is going to incorporate a few items previously talked about and one that hasn’t. In the previous post Local Auto Business the use of free social networking sites were discussed and how they could be leveraged with no price tag and time. Some of the friend I run with major automotive enthusiast and we are working some shorts to marketing ourselves and our hobbies.

We are in process of making movies and the first project is for the Mustang and here are the two main clips we have so far. The first movie is a short using a combination of 30 second clips, still images and music. The second is just a clip is a cockpit view from the road course at Pacific Raceways.

The goal is to build something that is viral and usable at the same time. Brian would like to have a nice movie to play if he decides to show his Mustang so it has to be pretty good. Well I am off to contemplate what to do.
